全F1チームがエミリア・ロマーニャGP中止の判断に賛同。角田裕毅、被災者への支援を呼びかける

今月上旬の大雨で死者が出るほどの被害が出たエミリア・ロマーニャ州が、今週再び豪雨に見舞われた。大規模な洪水や土砂崩れにより、数千人の人々が避難を余儀なくされており、死者も出るなど、再び被害が拡大している。
イモラ・サーキットそばのサンテルノ川の水位が上がり、危険な状況になったため、F1関係者は火曜日にはサーキットを離れるよう通達され、水曜にはサーキットに近づかないよう指示されていた。救助隊が救援活動を行っている深刻な状況のなかで、F1、FIAおよび関係者は、今週末のエミリア・ロマーニャGPを行わないという決断を下した。

この判断に対し、F1チームおよびドライバーたちが賛同するとともに、地元被災者を気遣うメッセージを発表している。イタリア・ファエンツァに住むアルファタウリの角田裕毅は、SNSを通して、被災者に対する支援を次のように呼びかけた。
「恐ろしい夜の後、町は大きな影響を受けています。埃と泥にまみれ、ガソリンの匂いがそこかしこに漂っています。現在、多くの人たちが自宅から避難しており、食料や、特に宿泊場所を探すのに苦労している状況です。助けるために何かできることをしていただけるとありがたいです」
「今後数日、エミリア・ロマーニャ地方に住む人たちが無事で過ごせることを、心から願っています」
