F1 Eスポーツ：メルセデス、トロロッソとの激しいバトルで接触も、連勝飾る／プロシリーズ第2イベント

ビデオゲームでのバーチャルレースで競うF1 Eスポーツ・シリーズは、10月から3イベント・10戦から成るプロシリーズを開催。現在F1に参戦するチームのうち、フェラーリを除く9チームがプロシリーズに参戦し、ドライバーおよびチーム選手権を戦っている。
ロンドンの会場で3回にわたって開催される『F1 ニューバランス・Eスポーツ・プロシリーズ2018』第2イベントが、10月31日に開催された。この日はポール・リカール、シルバーストン、スパ・フランコルシャンでレースが行われた。
第1レース（2018年プロシリーズ・レース4）はポール・リカールで開催。激しい優勝争いをしていたリーとトロロッソのフレデリック・ラスムッセンが終盤に接触。リーはその責任を問われて5秒ペナルティを科され、トロロッソの1－2という暫定結果になった。しかし詳しい調査の後、その裁定が覆され、リーが勝利を取り戻した。
シルバーストンでの第2レースでも、リーとラスムッセンが激しく戦った後、リーがシーズン4勝目を挙げた。
第3レースの開催地はスパ・フランコルシャン。メルセデスのダニエル・ベレズネイが優勝。後方では熾烈なバトルが繰り広げられ、3位から5位が0.025秒差という接戦だった。
今シーズン6戦終えた時点でのドライバーランキングでは、リーが他を大きく引き離しトップに立ち、2位にラスムッセンが続いている。チームランキングではメルセデスがトップ、71点差の2位にトロロッソが位置している。
